Brief of Company Background
It was Mr. Darmo Hadipranoto and his beloved wife who created ice cream called Campina (meaning : being champion everywhere or kampiun dimana-mana) at their house garage, which located at Jalan Gembong Sawah, Surabaya at July 22nd, 1972. At that time, CV. Pranoto was established. Ice cream that made by Mr. Hadipranoto was getting famous and became peoples favorite, so getting interest from Mr. H.M. Noer (Governor of East Java Province) to came to Campina ice cream factory back at 1973. Campina have a commitment to produce special products, made from natural ingredients, hygienic, and high quality. To add some product variants, at the year of 1984, Campina relocated their ice cream factory at Rungkut Industrial Estate, Surabaya, until now. Campina used various ways of selling, including mobile units (tricycle and bicycle unit), freezer, and vans. Along with Campina vision to be the largest ice cream manufacturer, at the year of 1994, the family of Mr. Sabana Prawirawidjaja (PT. Ultrajaya Milk Industry, Tbk) has participated in company share ownership, thus the company name has changed into PT. Campina Ice Cream Industry. Campina has also developing in strengthen it’s products. One of them by creating mutual relationship with TV cable networks, Nickelodeon.
