Brief of Company Background

PT Sigma Energy Compressindo Tbk or PT SINERCO for short is a services company that focuses on compressors to answer the strategic issue of Zero Routine Flaring by combining mini gas compressor technology that has accuracy in the scope of work and economics in supporting the concept of monetizing the utilization of flare gas flaring itself. The concept has successfully provided added value of revenue while supporting the zero flaring program, where the party who reduced the flare gas flaring in addition to not getting environmental sanctions also received environmental compensation. In 2007 PT SINERCO successfully pioneered this project with one of the private K3S in Indonesia with satisfactory results. The result made PT SINERCO trusted to be the sole agent of mini gas compressor technology in Indonesia, then the concept of flare gas utilization was followed by almost all private and national K3S. The initial investment of the project started with delivering the first 6 units to Indonesia.

Currently PT SINERCO has brought in 50 units of mini gas compressor to Indonesia and plans to bring in the same type of compressor as well as other types of technology. The dynamics and needs for energy, especially in the field of oil and gas, as well as the specificity of the mini gas compressor make the development of this business will run very long and with the needs that will continue to grow. Supported by the capability of mini gas compressor which is the most efficient and reliable technology is the core strength of PT SINERCO's business. Other developments continue as the need for mini gas compressors increases. This mini gas compressor technology can function as a marginal well production enhancement, as a gas booster, as an artificial lift and as a solution to gas lock or liquid handling problem. It is due to the operation capability of this mini gas compressor that can operate in vacuum condition. PT SINERCO offers the solution to extend the well production time up to the maximum rate of the well.

The world's growing concern about carbon emission pollution, which is causing the greenhouse effect and leading to global warming, has prompted the world to take action. The Oil and Gas business is an area of great concern in this regard. Flaring is estimated to be a major contributor to the greenhouse effect from Oil and Gas exploitation activities. Based on data from the World Bank in 2007, it is estimated that more than 150 BCM of gas is flared in the world each year and Indonesia contributes to flaring more than 3 BCM of gas.

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara penandatangan Protokol Kyoto yang memiliki kewajiban untuk mengurangi pembakaran gas suar bakar di industri minyak dan gas domestiknya.
