"Respondents are indicated to be more optimistic, which is reflected in the estimated positive growth of investment with WNB of 3.58 percent," said BI in its report, Thursday (14/1).

Several sectors that will contribute to investment growth in early 2021 include the mining and quarrying sector with a WNB of 2.71 percent, finance, real estate corporate services with a WNB of 1.16 percent, as well as agriculture, plantation, livestock, forestry, and fisheries. 0.32 percent.

In addition, BI also noted that 23.01 percent of respondents said they planned to carry out investment activities in the first semester of 2021.

However, according to respondents, there are still a number of factors that will hamper investment plans in that period.

Respondents stated that licensing problems will still be a major factor in hampering future investment activities. In addition, the factors of interest rates and infrastructure are also considered as obstacles to investment.

Meanwhile, in the fourth quarter of 2020, BI recorded that investment realization had decreased compared to the previous quarter, as reflected in the contraction of WNB by -1.48 percent, deeper than the third quarter of 2020 of -1.27 percent.

Based on the economic sector, the deepest decline in investment occurred in the mining and quarrying sector with WNB which was recorded at 2.19 percent although it was still positive.
