Antam Gold Sales Rises 34%, Nickel Sales Drops


Jakarta - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) reported a 3.29% decrease in ferronickel sales volume during the January-September 2021 period to 18,880 TNi from the same period last year of 19,524 TNi. However, gold rose 34% to 19,871 kg from 14,876 kg.

The financial report released on Thursday (28/10) showed that the lower ferronickel sales were triggered by a decrease in production volume of around 0.18% to 19,097 TNi from 19,133 TNi. The export market entirely absorbed Antam's ferronickel products.

Antam's gold production volume during the first nine months of this year also weakened by around 9.14% to 1,162 kg from 1,279 kg. This gold production is obtained from the Pongkor and Cibaliung mines.

Meanwhile, nickel ore production volume jumped 190% to 8.30 million wet metric tons from 2.86 million wmt. Its sales volume also rose 376% to 5.76 million wmt from 1.21 million wmt.

This year, Antam will focus on developing the domestic nickel ore market in line with the domestic nickel processing industry's growth outlook while prioritizing the conservation aspect of Antam's nickel ore reserves and resources.

Bauxite production volume was also positive, with 5% growth to 1.37 million wmt from 1.30 million wmt. Its sales volume reached 910 thousand wmt.

In addition, alumina sales volume also rose sharply by around 54.20% to 93,869 tons from 60,873 tons. However, its production decreased by around 21.03%, from 70,684 tons to 55,814 tons.
